Battery Inventory · Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 June 2026 · Applies to Battery Inventory on iOS.
Battery Inventory (“the app”) is developed by Tamas Bereczki (“we”, “us”, “our”). The app is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate our own servers, run no accounts, and show no advertising. This policy explains the data the app stores, the limited Apple platform services it uses, and the privacy choices you control.
1. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s SwiftData. We do not receive or have access to it. It includes:
- Batteries — name, code, brand, voltage, capacity, charge level, status, health, purchase date and any notes or photo you add.
- Tools — name, brand, battery platform, how many packs each tool needs, and any photo.
- Chargers — name and number of slots.
- Jobs and borrow records — planned tasks, and any loans you record (such as a borrower’s name and date).
- Settings — app preferences such as appearance.
This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
2. No account, no servers, no ads
The app does not require an account or sign-in, does not transmit your inventory to us or anyone else, and contains no advertising. We add no analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs.
3. Photos and camera
If you choose to add a photo to a battery or tool, the app uses Apple’s photo picker or camera. Photos you select are stored only within the app’s local data on your device. The app requests camera or photo access only when you use those features, and you can manage these permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
4. NFC and QR codes
The app can read NFC stickers and generate or scan QR codes to identify a battery. These are used purely to look up the matching item in your local inventory. Tag and code data is processed on your device and is not sent anywhere.
5. Purchases (Apple — “Pro”)
Battery Inventory offers an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase to unlock Pro features. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The app reads only your entitlement — whether the purchase is active — and never receives your payment method, card number, billing address, or Apple Account details. Purchase handling is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
6. Optional backup and export
If you use the Pro backup or export feature, any file you create is produced on your device and saved wherever you choose (for example Files or iCloud Drive). Once exported, that file is handled by the destination you pick and by Apple’s services, under their respective terms.
7. Children
Battery Inventory is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Your rights
Because your data lives on your device, you remain in control of it. To remove all app data, delete the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data — including access, correction and deletion — under laws such as the GDPR/UK GDPR or US state laws; for data held on your device, those rights are satisfied directly by viewing, editing, or deleting items in the app.
9. Data retention & security
We retain no personal data ourselves. On-device data persists until you delete it in the app or remove the app. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but the app limits the data involved by keeping your inventory on your device.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
11. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
